However, some lenders, Chase to be exact, will not refinance their own car loans, regardless of how good a client you were (one late payment in 5 years), or if it is under $7,000. Don't waste your time there. Also - don't fall for the 'Save The Auto-Iron Clad' site. Not only do they not have any other advice to offer if the refinance attempt with your lender fails, as it did with Chase - (you would think they should know what the larger lenders will or will not do if they charge a fee), but they try to keep the fee, not deliver what they guaranteed, and try to quibble about 1 or 2 days time in mailing, when they refuse to return calls (the number is listed on their site) for weeks on end.
